long time, no post

it's been a while since i typed it out
this morning, i put on  a pair of original true religion joey jeans....god they still fit like a glove and i feel like a rockstar in them
so thankful the 70's are in this season
i am so sick of skinny everything
yes skinny jeans and jeggings are great for many outfits and as a wardrobe staple
but i cannot wait to wear my new 7 for all mankind dojos with my cork wedges everyone made fun of me for looking like studio 54 all the time
so weird though because neon is really in this season
i was so wearing that forevs ago and even on my nails i had dayglo hues
i find myself being more attracted to earth tones and hints of color
i still don't think i can give up my flannels or my military issue pieces
they just work so well for layers
and as for haircolor, i find myself more attracted to blonde(again) and the super rich brown hues are gorgeous!
ombre is out people...it has been for more than a few seasons
as for makeup...never leave home without gloss, i personally love lining the lips first with a hot nude hue and super glossy...tinted or not...just no glitter
we are not 15 year old ravers anymore
LOL
shadows are less gothy and also 70's fused
even though i cant put down my Kevyn Aucoin book while mimicking the pages on my own canvas
i also cant get away from those luscious 60's bedroom eyes(think brigitte bardot)
god i could never imagine sleeping with false lashes all the time like they did back then!
i am still gonna keep it classy as open toe shoe season comes in closer
Bass saddle shoes
earth toned shoes
stacked heels and wedges instead of impossible stilettos
hardware not too flashy...a pyramid stud in brass here, a buckle of the same metal there
less mad max and more boho chic for nighttime
even though i will not remove the mad max from my wardrobe..(what am i supposed to do with my studded belt collection? LOL)
and frye motorcycle boots are always in fashion
can't wait for the denim cutoff cowboy boot warm weather wear

transitional fashion coming from such a harsh winter into an optimistic spring can be challenging
with the right few wardrobe additions, the move into beachy land can be smoother
*layers are still acceptible....raid your local salvo or good will(or your boyfriends closet) and score grade A mens shirts....collared and button down...fitted but long enough to layer multiple ways, flannel is ok, just stay away from bag lady land
*change your shoe outlook...stop buying what you normally are attracted to...stilletos and patent for me usually....and buy something super cute....i never thought i would get back into a stacked heel but damn girl can i walk after a few tequila and sodas with a swagger still in my sway...
*hang up your skinny jeans!!!!....at least for a few wears.....get yourself into some straight leg, bootcut or even flares!!!!  these cuts are super flattering on chicas with delicious curves and can balance out a too curvy figure....the upside down triangle look is awesome for all those skinny minis but can look tooooooo skinny sometimes....plus i just love the way cute hemlines swing and swish when you walk and how cute they look over super hot shoes
*don't be afraid of peachy tones....not orange but a warm, juicy peachy glow....for lips and even cheek stains...super cute on the cheeks with a little bronzer....same thing...get away from the too fake brown bronzers....expand your horizon to dreamy, sunset hues
*what color was your hair in the summer when you were a child?...try that for spring/summer...chances are you will look more radiant than ever and shake the winter blues....everyone should have a sunkissed sparkle, even on a darker hue...don't think sunkissed as blonde or gold, this is good for blondes and some brunettes, but the sun can transform everyones hair into caramel, honey, auburn, and many other multi tonal effects

what did i leave out?
i promise to be more on the ball with posting mind freeing, fashion forward, smart, sassy, intelligent, and funny posts
not all the posts will be fashion oriented, but remember fashion ebbs and flows with everything around us...culturally, politically, artistically, etc
keep it real and be you!
